Why do some beer companies emphasize their Light beer instead of their regular beer?
It seems to me some beer companies like Coors advertise way too much on light beer than advertising the product name itself. Why are they pushing light beer so much? is it ebcause they think the light beer wont sell as good because its light and it wont taste the same as the regular?
Well the Light market is extremely strong right now. With Bud Light and Miller Lite....you got to compete somehow, Coors Light would be a distant third in that race, with Sam Adams Light and Heniken Light right behind.
Plus Coors Banquet beer is actually tough to find, unless you're in the Rockies. I think that Coors Light may actually be the "flagship" beer of the Coors company for the general population of the US.
Winenut, not in my state. I've been bartending and drinking here in Missouri for quite some time and maybe one in five bars will have Banquet (it's Coors Banquet...not Coors "regular" BTW). While all bars have Coors Light.
