What kind of Owl most likley lives here?
I live in sleaford, lincolnshire and we constantly keep hearing an owl at night but we never see them.
Do you have any kind of idea what kind of Owls live around here or what kind it might be?

It depends on the noise you are hearing. A Barn Owl will make hissing noises when they feel threatened but are generally quiet. Little Owls are quite high pitched though can be vocal at times.
It's more likely to be a Tawny Owl though as they are far more common. They will screech very loudly at times. It's also the species that makes the twit twoo noise - the males making the twit and the females the twoo!
If you have a strong spotlight (500.000 candlepower or more) try to focus it in the general direction of the noise and most likely you will get to see your owl.
