Very Rare Bee! help indentify?
alright so i was powerwashing outside when out of nowhere a hugeeee wasp or bee or something along those lines ( i belive ) flew by me and landed right in front of me. I looked at it and it was defiently at least twice the size of a average wasp. Its wings were a redish orange and it had very neon like yellow stripes and dark black and looked like nothing ive ever seen. anyone have any insight on to what i may have stumbled on or any ideas so i could look at pics and see. thanks =)
It sounds like a Cicada Killer.

They catch and sting cicadas, lay eggs on them, and bury them. Bugguide.net says this:
In two or three days after egg laying, a wasp larva will hatch from the egg. The larva immediately begins eating the cicada. When the larva finishes the cicada, leaving only the outer shell (about two weeks), it will then spin a coccoon and hibernate until the following Spring.
In the Spring, the larva will leave its coccoon and become a pupa (resting stage). From the pupa, an adult Cicada Killer will hatch. It will dig its way out of the ground and look for a mate.
Male wasps die shortly after mating. Females die after laying all of their eggs.
